Law Centre director moves to NIHRC
Les Allamby is taking up a position as Chief Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission from Monday 1 September.
Pending the appointment of a new director, Ursula O’Hare (Assistant Director – Policy and Communications) will become the acting Director.
Les sent out this farewell message to Law Centre members, partners and supporters:
"Today is my last day at the Law Centre after 32 years with the organisation as a volunteer, caseworker, casework manager and ultimately Director. In practice, virtually my whole working life has been with the Law Centre. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work for an organisation whose mission is to support legal advice services and make a positive difference to the lives of people affected by the areas of law we cover.
The Law Centre relies on the effectiveness and support of its member agencies and other supporters in order make the best use of its own resources. I would like to thank you for your support and work over my many years at the Law Centre. I know the relationships forged will continue into the future under new leadership.
Good luck with all your work in the future and I am confident the Law Centre will continue to forge ahead and support your work as effectively as possible."
The staff and management committee of the Law Centre would like to thank Les for his enormous contribution to the organisation and wish him all the very best for the future.
