Domiciliary care seminar

RICC seminar

On 28 April the Law Centre held a successful event facilitating discussion of the current Health and Social Care Board review of domiciliary care and its implications for service users.

The speakers were:

• Kevin Keenan, Assistant Director Older People and Adult Services, Health and Social Care Board;

• Emer Boyle, Head of Legal and Policy Advice, Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland;

• Jonathan Swallow, Social Policy Consultant, UNISON;

• John McCormick, Carers NI.

Representatives of 20 organisations from across the voluntary, community and statutory sectors joined into a Q&A session facilitated by Law Centre (NI) Director Glenn Jordan.

Other than the Law Centre, the Rights in Community Care (RICC) group includes: The Cedar Foundation, Age NI, Alzheimer's Society, Carers Northern Ireland, Disability Action and UNISON.

RICC supports a human rights-based approach to the delivery of community care.
