Description

Welfare reform in Northern Ireland includes a set of mitigations to protect specific groups of people and compensate claimants who would otherwise lose out under the new system.  This advanced level course discusses the mitigating schemes, how they will operate and who will benefit from them.  This course is designed for those who give advice on benefits in the voluntary sector and want to understand how welfare reform would impact on claimants in Northern Ireland.

The course is linked to Legal Advice National Occupational Standard IB19 - Welfare Rights Legal Advice.  It will count as 5 hours towards Advice NI, CAB, Law Society and Bar Council Continuing Professional Development requirements for advisers, solicitors and barristers.
