The Labour Relations Agency is a Non-Departmental Public Body with responsibility for promoting the improvement of employment relations in Northern Ireland. It provides an impartial and confidential employment relations service to those engaged in industry, service and public services. It can provide support with resolving disputes through it conciliation, mediation and arbitration services.
The Equality Commission provides advice on equality rights and can advise on what to do if you think you have been treated unfairly at work.
Industrial Tribunals are independent judicial bodies that hear and determine claims to do with employment matters. These include a range of claims relating to unfair dismissal, breach of contract, wages/other payments, as well as discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, age, part time working or equal pay.
The Enforcement of Judgments Office (EJO) is a centralised unit for enforcing civil judgments related to the recovery of money, goods and property of the courts. In some circumstances the EJO can enforce the decisions of some Tribunals in Northern Ireland (including the Industrial Tribunal and the Fair Employment Tribunal).
