HRS logoThursday 10 March 2011, 10am - 4pm, Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast, BT7

In Northern Ireland the use of high cost financial services is widespread.  These sources of credit can be extremely costly, with APR's ranging from between 100 to over 100,000%

As part of its Preventing Possession Initiative Housing Rights Service is holding a conference to focus on this pressing issue.  This will consider the situation locally as well as UK government policies and good practice examples. Breakout sessions will give delegates with opportunity to reflect on current initiatives.

Contributors will include:

  • Northern Ireland Consumer Council
  • Research Unit for Financial Inclusion-Liverpool John Moore’s University
  • Chartered Institute of Housing, Scotland & Northern Ireland
  • Trading Standards Illegal Money Lending Team, Birmingham (tbc)
  • Moneyline Cymru, Wales
